Paulette Fortier
Paulette became passionate about her art later in life after raising a beautiful daughter. Paulette is a psychotherapist who acquired a Master’s Degree in Counselling/Therapy with the Department of Education at Saint Boniface College. She worked mainly in the field of ‘Prevention of Family Violence, especially with women and children.
Paulette’s art work began with classes with the Prince Albert, Saskatchewan Art Program where she explored different art mediums such as pencil, charcoal, pastel, acrylic and watercolour. She continued her learnings and practice when she later moved to Winnipeg and attended classes with local artists both privately and online as well as with institutions such as the Winnipeg Art Gallery, City of Winnipeg and Artist Emporium. Her preferred mediums include watercolour, acrylics and charcoal/pastels, however, she also likes to explore others such as oil, ink, multi-media etc. Her subjects include nature scenes, animals, people including live models, city scenes and more.
Paulette’s future goals are to explore people expressing emotions, passions, as well as gestures and movements to bring them to life. She hopes this will help her to communicate messages that move her audience
