Local Colour Art Group (LCAG) was formed in 1998 to serve Manitoba artists, working in a variety of styles and mediums. We are dedicated to the creation of art, and its promotion in the community.

The membership fee of $50.00, not only gives you a yearly membership to LCAG, but also to the Elmwood East Kildonan Active Living Centre (EEKALC).  ($30 for LCAG membership, and $20 for a mandatory membership to Elmwood East Kildonan Active Living Centre). If you are over 80 years old, and you have been a member of LCAG for 5 years, the total membership fee is $30.00.

2. Mail in the registration form + cheque (mailing address is on the registration form)

3. Drop the registration form into the LCAG Mailbox in the art room + cash/cheque

4. Register at the GM in September + cash, cheque, etransfer, or Square

Benefits of Membership

 

BUILDING COMMUNITY & CONNECTIONS

• Our art studio at 180 Poplar, is available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 9 am to 3pm, for your use. Several artists attend regularly. This is a good opportunity to share ideas, critique, and learn from others. (TIP: Supplying your license plate number to the office extends the parking time to 4 hours, and the first two spaces on Poplar by the ramp are designated handicapped.)

• There is a Members Only section on our website. www.localcolourart.com 

• You can join the private Facebook group for members only. 

 

CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT

• We offer opportunities to gather via zoom for painting sessions and virtual workshops.

• LCAG has an extensive library, in which books and DVD’s may be taken out for a period of three weeks.

• Workshops/Play dates are scheduled throughout the year. Playdates are casual Saturday fun sessions where we experiment with new mediums and techniques. We encourage our interested members to check you-tube videos and come prepared to have fun. 

• Lunch and Learn sessions happen throughout the winter where we focus on topics such as using social media to promote our art.

 

COMMUNICATION

• A monthly newsletter is produced and emailed to all members, with information about the activities and news concerning LCAG.

• Three meetings are held yearly, two general and one annual general (AGM), which members are encouraged to attend. We serve pizza at the AGM.

• Our president sends out an email at the beginning of each month.

 

EXTRA PERKS

• Membership cards are issued and have a PST number which allows you to save the PST on the purchases of art supplies at some local businesses (Artist Emporium, Michaels).

• Artist Emporium offers a discount for art supplies and certain frames for a 30 day period prior to our art shows.

• When you become a member of Local Colour, you will become a member of the Elmwood East Kildonan Active Living Centre (EEKALC). They have many activities that can be enjoyed. 

 

OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW YOUR WORK

• Two art shows are held yearly, which entitles members to show and sell their work. Entry fee is $35.00.

• Often throughout the year, we have external art shows. Registration for these shows occurs online and information is shared in our newsletters.

• Our website has artist galleries that are optional and opportunities for artists to showcase their work.
