Anne Layman
Anne Layman is a local Winnipeg artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Education from the University of Manitoba. She has won awards and showcased her work in juried exhibitions with the cre8ery, the Manitoba Society of Artists, the Manitoba Heritage gallery at CMU and the Winnipeg Sketch Club. Anne is the recipient of an Honorable Mention award for portraiture in the Manitoba Society of Artists exhibition of 2014. At present she has been accepted to the online 2020 OJCE Manitoba Society of Artists exhibition.
Anne renders printmaking and collage through mixed media. She will begin with an idea, a line, a sonnet, an image of a butterfly and allow these forms to take shape on her canvas. Her subject matters range from the representational to the abstract. She is currently associated with the Local Colour art Group, the cre8ery, the Manitoba Society of Artists , the Wayne Arthur Gallery and the hARTe Trail Group. The artist is a retired art teacher from the Winnipeg 1 School Division and today she continues on building her career as an artist.
