Fran was born in Montreal, and grew up in Winnipeg.  Being a city girl, she has no idea where her love of horses came from.  Perhaps it was her big sister getting a horse when she was 9 years old.  Sometimes when it was hot and he was too tired to give them trouble, she would let Fran and her twin sister take turns riding him up and down the sandy road past their cottage.  Her own first horse came a few years later, after a move to Langley, the self-proclaimed Horse Capital of BC.

Over the years Fran hasn't always been able to keep horses, but continued drawing and painting them, doing commissioned portraits of horses, as well as portraits of dogs, cats and people, in acrylics or coloured pencil.

Fran has done commissions in collections across Canada, and has shown at various venues in Victoria, the Lower Mainland of BC, and Winnipeg.  She currently works at her home studio and with the Local Colour Art Group in Winnipeg.  Fran is available to do commissions in Graphite or Coloured Pencil.
